Hello, 2nd Hour! Welcome to your class Blog!
We will be using our blog for teacher-to-student communication as well as student-to-student communication. Our main purpose will be for you to learn about blogs and what they are used for. We will also use them to post assignments, do journal entries or simply have class discussions.
My goal will be to post an assignment each Monday and you will have until the Friday of that same week to respond. You may respond to the blog from class, home, the library or any other place that you might have access to the Internet.
Before we begin, there are ground rules that must be set and followed. Note that if these ground rules are not followed you may receive a zero on the assignment(s). Please follow the rules!
All posts must use school appropriate language. When you post, you must write in complete sentences using proper grammar and spelling. Do not use: u, r, ur, b4, cuz, etc.
When commenting on another student’s post, keep your comments non-personal. You can agree or disagree with a comment but refrain from sarcasm, judgment, and/or put-downs. You must state how you feel and why. You must comment on every article, topic, or question from me - it is an assignment - and your response should thoughtfully address each topic and question posted on the blog. You cannot simply write “I agree.”
Your first assignment will be to introduce yourself. Please provide some background information, discuss things you enjoy doing, your family, and your future plans. Then answer the following questions:
1. How much do you know about blogging?
2. Have you ever used or hosted a blog?
3. What might you use a blog for personally?

i dont really know much about blogging but its a personal webpage about news sports ETC. i have not hosted a blog before or used one. i could use a blog for alot of things like sports news etc
Hi my name is Bryanne Teel. I have 5 brothers and a sister. I live with my mom, step dad, brother and sister. This year i will be a hockey trainer and i will do track. My favorite color is green.
ReplyDeleteI do not know alot about blogging. I have used a blog I think in 6th grade for something school related, I may use a blog for school purposes, and music.
I was born a month early at Toledo Hospital, on March fifth. I didn't have any birth defects, happily. I like to read, work out and spend time with my friends and family, as cliché as it sounds. I live with my two parents here in Bedford. My mom is dental hygienist and my dad is a dyecut maker at Ford. He was married before he married my mom and has a son from his previous marriage. My older brother is 33 and his name is Jason. We’re pretty close, despite the fact that he lives about an hour away. I have an older sister, Haylee. She is a senior here at Bedford. I have a younger brother who is a seventh grader, Lucas. I plan to go to U of M to major in biology. I plan to be an Orthopedic Surgeon when I ‘grow up’. I have some experience of blogging, I have a tumblr. I use a blog personally for sharing photos and voicing my opinion.
ReplyDeleteHello Mrs. Lundquist, my name is Katelyn Martin, I am 15 years old. I like neutral colors like black, grey, and brown, so I blend in crowds easier since I don’t like being in crowds or getting attention. I like animals, especially cows because they’re beautiful and I feel bad that people use them for food. I also like cats… but only as kittens because once they grow up, they’re not cute anymore when they do annoying things. I love dogs, but they’re a hassle to take care of sometimes, especially since my dog is 15 years old and I have school all the time. I love playing video games, especially computer games made by Blizzard Entertainment, like World of WarCraft or StarCraft II. Right now, I am waiting for their newest game, Diablo III. I also love Japanese shows like anime, and their music which is usually very upbeat. I have three sisters and one brother. I am the oldest, my oldest younger sister is 13, and my two other sisters are somewhere between 8-11. I am not sure, because I haven’t been able to contact their mother so I get to know my siblings. I also have a little brother in Germany; he is 6 years old and lives with his mom. I am not close to my dad at all, so I don’t usually call him my dad. I usually just use his first name. I don’t have any big future plans at the moment, except to get through highschool successfully without any delays or problems, which I believe I can do as long as I do my work correctly or at least as best as I can. I don’t know much about blogging except maybe posting a few paragraphs about your opinion and what you’d do about something, or maybe just random stuff that people would be interested in. I’ve never blogged before except I posted a poem I wrote in a blog on MySpace because I didn’t know where else to put it, the poem is gone now though and I don’t use MySpace anymore because nobody does. If I use this blog to do more than comment on class things, I’d probably post about the shows I watch or the games I play.

ReplyDelete2. I have used a blog as a news section for a roleplay site I made… It didn’t really work, considering no-one ever joined the site… Since there was no-one to comment, I did not really have many ways to test out all the abilities of a blog.
3. I would use a blog to discuss photography and as a sounding board/news site combo for the various sites I have made.
